报告摘要:

Manipulation of magnetic domain walls (DWs) has been a long-lasting topic in spintronics for both fundamental interest and its important applications in the spintronic devices. Generally, it is preferred that a DW could move in a high speed and maintains its internal structures compact at the same time. In practice, the DW speed is limited by the Walker breakdown effect and magnonic barrier. In this talk, I will first present a universal theory to describe the antiferromagnetic dynamics and then show that an antiferromagnetic DW can move free of Walker breakdown problem, which could even exceed the limitation of the magnon speed when it reaches the atomic scale. An elegant physical picture based on energy conservation is identified to perfectly explain such counterintuitive DW dynamics.


报告人简介:

Dr. Huaiyang Yuan received his Bachelor degree in the Department of Physics of Wuhan University in 2010 and the PhD degree in the Department of Physics of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2015. Since 2017, he joined the Southern University of Science and Technology as research assistant professor. He is mainly working on the theoretical aspects of spintronics that include the dynamics of magnetic nanostructures such as domain walls, vortices and skyrmions, spin transport in the magnetic film based multi-layered structures, such as spin pumping, spin Seebeck effect, and their crossings of spintronics with quantum information science. Up till now, he has published more than 20 papers in renowned physics journals.
